Summer Days in Delray

Just north of Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton lies the beautiful, eclectic seaside village of Delray Beach, Florida. Replete with stunning beaches, a mile-long stretch of restaurants, shops, and a world-class tennis complex, there are great new hotels popping up left and right in this walkable community and is a must-add to your trip list in any season.

I recently returned from visiting my son there and spent some time touring the brand new and original hotel options that the town has to offer. This locale gives off a great hometown vibe and rates high on the walkability scale. Your toes could be in the sand in a short 20- 30-minute taxi or uber ride from either Palm Beach airport or the one in  Fort Lauderdale respectively. Either way, you can’t go wrong putting this fun Florida destination on your radar.

The first property I visited was the recently renovated and gorgeous Opal Grand Resort and Spa. Just picture yourself watching the sunrise over the waves while sipping coffee from your balcony. The property did a great job renovating the former Marriott and giving it new life with its “tropical meets modern” design. I think this will be one of the new hot properties in this area, one well worth visiting!

For a trendier vibe, The Ray has a wonderfully fresh and vibrant energy in the heart of lively downtown Delray. Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, this property has a luxury boutique feel but is backed with the excellent reputation of their parent brand. The Ray has four fabulous food and beverage outlets, including a rooftop restaurant and bar and a Michelin-rated chef.

The third property I visited is the lovely Seagate Hotel. While not located directly on the Atlantic, the hotel does provide guests a shuttle to their exclusive private beach club, just a quick 4-minute ride, and offers a restaurant and pool right on the sand. This property is equipped with its own Country Club, Beach Club, Spa, and Yacht Club, and golf access so that you can soak up all the great activities under the Florida Sun.

If you are looking to head to the beach, I highly recommend stepping away from the crowds and into the beautiful town of Delray Beach, Florida. Let’s connect via my email at Jodi@leisureluxetravel.com, and we will have you dipping into the warm Atlantic in no time.
